Where do we meet?
Fulham WI meets at 7:30pm on the first Monday of each month in the upstairs function room of The Peterborough (Formerly The Southern Cross) on New Kings Road (at the bottom of Wandworth brodge Road and opposite Eel Brook Common).
Why did we form?
Fulham WI was formed in July 2003 by a group of young women living in Fulham and the surrounding area, who felt that there was a space in the locality for a 'modern women's group with a traditional ethos'.
The girls who initiated FWI felt that community spirit should be given a chance to flourish wherever people live and that FWI would offer local women the chance to make friends, learn new (and consolidate old) skills, benefit the surrounding community and feel part of it.
FWI has since gone from strength to strength, with many friendships having already been formed. Its members now look forward to a successful and happy future, filled with friendship, fun and purpose.
We started this blog in May 2006 to improve the availability of information about FWI and to reach a wider audience.
FWI is a member of The Surrey Federation of WIs.

Hi Emily, thank you for your request. Sounds like a very worthy cause- if you provide me with dates/ times, how long the tests, ect will take; as well as where you're holding the trial, I can transfer your comment into a blog post. You can either leave these as another comment or email me (by clicking on name).Sarah

I represent The Affinity Law Group (Wills) for the London area, I would like to come along and make a short presentation 30 minutes or so on the benefits of making a will, and what happens if a person dies without a will, explain the community care act and how the Social Services could sell your property ifyou need long term nursing home care, explain a living will and why they are needed, explain inheritance tax and how it can be reduced or avoided if a will is in place.
Please feel free to telephone me at any time.

Nikolas,
Many thanks for your interest in Fulham WI. We did have a presentation on the benefits of making a will last year, so will not be likely to repeat it so soon. However, feel free to contact me as Speaker Coordinator (via the Committee page) if you'd like to discuss further.

Your members might like to know about the Cinnamon Trust which provides volunteer dog-walkers and foster carers for all pets ifn their owners are ill or incapacitated. That's it in a nutshell; they do lots more but the foster caring and dog-walking are probably the most useful. I'm a volunteer dog walker for them. Contact head office for more info or help.

I thought that your members may like to know about some fabulous new creative activity courses that you can do in the evenings or weekends, bag and hat designing are among them. I have just finished a course run by Katherine and it was fantastic! Check out Katherine Elizabeth Hats on Facebook for more info.

Hi There,
I make handmade jewellery mostly from recycled glass beads from Ghana and some semi precious stones. My jewellery is very affordable and can be worn everyday. I was wondering if there would be a monday available for me to sell my jewellery at your meetings. Please have a look at www.patriciaasare.com and would be nice to know your thoughts.
Kind Regards,
Patricia
