Where do we meet?
Fulham WI meets at 7:30pm on the first Monday of each month in the upstairs function room of The Peterborough (Formerly The Southern Cross) on New Kings Road (at the bottom of Wandworth brodge Road and opposite Eel Brook Common).
Why did we form?
Fulham WI was formed in July 2003 by a group of young women living in Fulham and the surrounding area, who felt that there was a space in the locality for a 'modern women's group with a traditional ethos'.
The girls who initiated FWI felt that community spirit should be given a chance to flourish wherever people live and that FWI would offer local women the chance to make friends, learn new (and consolidate old) skills, benefit the surrounding community and feel part of it.
FWI has since gone from strength to strength, with many friendships having already been formed. Its members now look forward to a successful and happy future, filled with friendship, fun and purpose.
We started this blog in May 2006 to improve the availability of information about FWI and to reach a wider audience.
FWI is a member of The Surrey Federation of WIs.
