The August meeting will include talks from:-
Phil Booth - What’s wrong with the ID scheme?
The UK identity card won’t be just another harmless piece of plastic - the card is just the tip of the iceberg. Phil Booth, the national co-ordinator of the pressure group NO2ID, explains how the National Identity Management System will mean the collection and storage of your personal details on an unprecedented scale, and the creation of an “audit trail” of all your life’s activities.
Are we moving towards a big brother society? Phil Booth believes that we are, and in this talk he demonstrates how privacy will be a thing of the past if the identity scheme goes ahead.
Angela Harkness will be enlightening us on Emotional Freedom Techniques:
This is a simple technique which can help to relieve pain, dissolve cravings, phobias, release stress, relax after a hard day etc. Angela is a neuron linguistic programming practitioner who will use her experience to interactively demonstrate how this technique can be used in everyday situations.
Victoria France from Mazoom will be selling Silver Handmade Gemstone Jewellery:
Mazoom’s unique and beautiful designs use the very finest semi precious and precious gemstones set in hallmarked sterling silver. Many are one-off pieces in unusual colour combinations, set simply to emphasise the beauty of the natural stones.
As always there is no pressure to purchase and Victoria is very happy for us to just look!
