JULY SPEAKER
"Women Hiring Men - A Male Escort Perspective"
Fulham WI will be welcoming John to speak to us on this controversial subject.
John is a seasoned male escort who featured in a TV documentary last year and runs his own business www.claretknight.co.uk He intends to provide us with a holistic view of the escort business covering both the reasons why women hire escorts – and what this actually means – as well as the effect hiring an escort has on clients. We will also hear from the escorts perspective on how his work affects him – and the ups and downs of their business.
Questions are of course welcomed!
Please note that at John’s request no photography or press will be allowed.
In addition, bring your cheque books for Innovative Jewellery from Patricia Asare
Patricia is Polish/Ghanaian and was brought up in Ghana until she was 18, when she moved to Poland to do her Masters in International Relations. She moved to London in 2001 and has woas a nanny, assistant kindergarten teacher and an office manager. Patricia’s mother has a great passion for beads and jewellery which has finally rubbed onto her! She can’t get enough of jewellery making now and is delighted to be coming to display her wares at our July meeting. For a sneak preview please have a look at: www.patriciaasare.com
FWI PRESIDENT AND COMMITTEE
As the WI constitution decrees, all committee members who have been on the committee for three years (or more) have to stand down. Therefore at the end of September Joanna and myself will be stepping down as the co-presidents and there will also be a number of vacancies on the committee to fill. Some committee members would like to stay on but this is also a time for new blood and your chance to be involved in the running of the FWI. We will be looking for a committee of 7 people for roles including: President, Treasurer, Membership, Events, IT and Speaker Co-ordinator
We will be asking for nominations by the August meeting and then there will be a chance for every FWI member to have a say in who they want as the President/on the committee with voting taking place at the September meeting.
If this is something you would like to be involved in/have any questions about please email fulhamwi@gmail.com … it’s a fantastic opportunity and I have certainly enjoyed my time on the committee.
