We felt it was time to get to know ourselves better so for September we thought we would have a back to school meeting - the subject of which is "What I did in the Summer". Do not fear or cringe or decide not to come but we thought it would give us a chance to talk to each other and maybe spark some conversations we didn't think we'd ever have!
The Rugby World Cup is approaching and I wonder how Faye has got on and how the England team have benefitted from her attentions - it's amazing that Fulham WI has a direct link to such an enormous international event - and that is just the start of things so come along and we can see how the meeting goes from there. Claire Reynolds has moved from blowing up landmines in Sri Lanka to Kosovo and heaven only knows who else is up to exciting things - or like me sewing on name tabs on the new bits of school uniform!
We had a committee meeting this week and we have lots of things to tell you about - a separate mailer will be going out with lots of bits and pieces on it but we can go through them in more detail at the meeting.
We also need to start thinking about the AGM which will be in October and new people on the committee and the roles they can take on.
The Birthday Party on the 16th September needs more support for it to go ahead. Friends and Family are welcome and encouraged and it will be a lovely with dinner and wine for £25 a head so please bring your cheque books and we can make it happen.
I'm afraid I have been completely daft when it comes to Legally Blonde tickets on 13 September and have lost my list of those who want to come so please can you either email me (katrinaquinton@gmail.com) or let me know on Monday night so I can confirm the booking on Tuesday - sorry for being quite so stupid.
Other events coming up are the Jack The Ripper Walk in October and a night at the Pottery Cafe in November - more details at the meeting.
As usual, the meeting will be in the upstairs room at the Peterborough/Southern Cross pub on The New Kings Road on the junction of Wandsworth Bridge Road, nearest tube is Fulham Broadway.
We look forward to welcoming members both potential and existing and hope that this Birthday Meeting can be a happy one.
